In 2018, Quality Roasting began producing Exceller Oil , an all-natural, food-grade vegetable oil for human consumption.
Today, we process more than 14M bu of soybeans annually, produce 350,000 tons of Exceller Meal and 15M gallons of soybean oil each year, and employ more than 50 team members at our three facilities - Valders, WI, Owen, WI and Reese, MI.

Position
Summary:
The Refinery Plant Manager is a highly knowledgeable and experienced engineer and/or liquid process expert in the food processing industry.
Responsibilities include the start-up of our new plant in Reese, Michigan with continuous oversight and management of all aspects of our soybean oil refinery plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
This position will be based in/near Reese, Michigan and will also provide support to our Valders, Wisconsin plant operations.

Essential Job Functions:
Operational Leadership:
Manage day-to-day operations of the Reese, Michigan refinery plant to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
Oversee the entire production cycle, from crude oil intake from the onsite soybean mill to final product distribution.
Implement and enforce operational best practices to optimize plant performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Strong Mechanical Aptitude:
Requires hands-on approach with a high level of mechanical aptitude Will be expected to spend 50% of time working directly with the Operations Team on plant projects Quality Control:
Develop and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality soybean oil products.
Collaborate with quality assurance team to implement and monitor quality assurance programs Process Optimization:
Identify and implement strategies for optimal efficiency and overall plant productivity.
Utilize data-driven insights to continuously optimize manufacturing processes.
Safety and Compliance:
Collaborate with our safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Implement and monitor safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all plant employees.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality and safety.
Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of production staff.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting open communication and continuous improvement.
Communication and Reporting:
Regularly communicate with senior leadership to provide updates on plant performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators, production metrics, and other relevant data.
Required Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Food, Biological Sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience 5
years' experience working with food processing/manufacturing operations.
Strong knowledge in the areas of food safety, food microbiology, food processing technology, sanitation practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and HACCP principles.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, manage performance and foster a team environment High level of mechanical knowledge and desire to be hands on with the production team Strong knowledge of quality specifications using identification and data gathering skills Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects at various location Strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skill Must have good computer skills Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull Ability to occasionally kneel Ability to frequently carry/lift light to heavy loads of up to 50 lbs.
